Aceh Heritage Community Foundation collaborates with Nara Machizukuri Centre and Asian Research Institute, National University of Singapore

AHCF Cultural Heritage Exchang Program with Nara Machizukuri in Nara, Japan, Nov 2006

Nara Machizukuri Center, an NPO (Non-Profit Incorporated association) that supports urban conservation activities in Asia, invited 3 members of Aceh Heritage Community Foundation (Executive Director - Yenny Rahmayati, Executive Secretary - Hilda Mufiaty, and Program Coordinator - Zulhan Hanif).

We visited Nara, Japan from 23 to 27 November 2006 and had a meeting with the members of Nara Machizukuri Cente. We also visited Imai-cho, one of the conservation districts of traditional buildings designated by the national law, and inspected Kobe city, the disaster area of the Hanshin earthquake.

Yenny Rahmayati was a speaker in the workshop on 'Heritage Restoration of Disaster Areas and Safety Management of Historic Towns in Asia by Citizen's Participation', held on 25 November at the Naramachizukuri Center. She gave a presentation titled /'Historic Heritage and Living Environment in the Aceh Region', Post-Disaster.
